Brad Katz went from home roasting to a roastery when Waveworks AV, a sister sound business, closed during the pandemic. He roasts by hand in small batches, from fruity light roasts to a darker Italian-style espresso roast.
As of October 2026, beans come from Brazil, Colombia, Honduras, and Peru. In August 2026 Bassline announced that its Finca Milan watermelon co-ferment from Colombia was a finalist in the Kenneth Davids Cup's Experimental category.
