Henry Kalebjian bought the shop in 1983, when it was an Armenian deli. As of 2017 his son Hrag, who left a finance career in 2013, ran daily operations. The beans include single origins from Kenya, Costa Rica, and Sumatra, and the shop also sells Armenian coffee.
Behind a stucco shopfront on Noriega Street, the drum roaster sits in the open on the shop floor, in line with the counter, with burlap sacks of green coffee stacked beside it. The counter runs down the left side of one deep room.
